I keep seeing these wooden buttons on people's blogs and really wanted to try and make some. I have no idea what I'm going to sew them on. They were pretty easy. First I sawed the pieces off of a branch. Then I drilled holes in them, sanded them, and used beeswax to polish them. I'll have to come back when I've actually used them on a project. I was thinking they would have been really cute on my root children. Perhaps next time.
They turned out great! The wood you used is very pretty. So much fun to make aren't they?
ReplyDeleteThey are cool, I must make some too, cheers Marie
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE these! Will you make some for a purse I'm making?
ReplyDeleteWhat a clever idea! I love wooden buttons...might have my husband drag out his drill this weekend;-)
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of homemade wooden buttons. I have a couple of our apple tree branches cut off and waiting in the wood store. Like you I'm not sure what I will use them for. I think it will have to be something that doesn't go through the washing machine.
ReplyDeletethis project is on my to-do list as well! You did a lovely job and I can't wait to see how you use them ;-)
