Corn Maze, pumpkin patch, and farm

We've been visiting lots of farms, orchards, and cider mills recently. Sorry if my post have been really heavy in our travels. There is just so much to explore in the fall! Especially around here where we have corn mazes, pumpkin patches, and cider mills. We spent that day out at Three Cedars farm where where K had a ball. They just added the "corn box" this year which is a sandbox filled with corn. Even all of us adults enjoyed it! Great idea.

Ohio

Old Man Cave
K is pointing at his dad who is way up in the corner.
We spent this last weekend on a last minute trip with some friends. We had a great time hiking through the Hocking Hills area. One of the hikes lead us through an awesome cave, another along huge cliffs, and another past swimming holes and waterfalls. K really enjoyed himself even though he had to stay in the backpack much of the time (the cliffs were too dangerous). We spent sunday canoeing down a river. K really had a great time paddling. I didn't bring my camera for this part so I'll have to get some pictures from my friends.
Hope everyone had a great weekend. Now its back to last minute birthday projects.

Meijer Gardens

K nesting in the children's tree fort.
K playing with boats in the water shaped like Michigan's great lakes.
K climbing one of the many sculptures
The door to the children's garden.
The indoor conservatory

On the way home from the beach we stopped at Meijer Gardens. I love this place! It has a wonderful children's garden and miles of property to rome filled with amazing sculptures. we were really lucky with the weather. When we pulled in it was pouring rain. We looked around at the art galleries and conservatory inside and just as we finished the rain stopped. By the time we left it was blazing hot out. We've been to the gardens once before, but K was only crawling at the time. It was nice to see him acutely get to interact with everything this time.

Back from the beach

K's foot steps and he races down the beach
America's only working real windmill from Holland. We toured this windmill while on Windmill Island. Their current Miller is America's first women miller.
K exploring the local museum
Our crazy sand castle
While walking through the woods we stumbled on this fawn.
We spent this past week on Lake Michigan playing in the sand and exploring the near by city. We rented out a house with 4 other families with children K's age. We had a great time! All of my crafting took a back seat while I was gone so it might take a few days to really get posting again.

I'm back... for a few days

A walk through the woods in one of their state parks
Visiting the fossil gorge. years ago a flood uncovered this area full of fossils that you can walk through and explore.
We visited Kalona, home to a pig Amish population.

Kalan "shopping" at the Children's Museum.

We are back from Iowa City. We had a great time exploring the city. It was especially fun as the last time we were there K was only 1 week old. This time he actually got to participate and explore with us.
I've been working on lots of projects and will hopefully have them done and pictures up by the end of the week. Things are kind of crazy right now as we are in between travels and have lots of up coming birthdays. :)
