Holiday fun

They boys have been playin. With our holiday themed sensory bin and the Christmas felt scene that I made. Unfortunately making the felt resulted in white paint on carpet. Now how to get that out?

Holiday presents

I've been making lots of presents this year including water bottle holders, eye spy bags, granola, lotion bars, cranberry tea, gnome clothes pins, and such. Now that everything's done I really need to find a new project!

Holiday baking

I've been slowing making cookies and candies and freezing them. We have 6 kinds of cookies and 4 candies including Carmel's, fudge, grapefruit gumdrops, and suckers. I am pretty excited to finally be able to eat them.

Pjs for the holidays

Every year I make the kids matching pjs. I also made pjs for their dolls.

Holiday bags

I made the boys bags for their Xmas eve gifts. I'd like to make them bags every year and slowly eliminate the wrapping paper, but that all depends on my future motivation. These were fun to make though.

Advent calendar

Here is the calendar so far. I have been needle Felting away to get at least half the animals done. I will tuck the animals into the pockets so that each day the kids take one out an stick it to the scene.
I think I'm done for this year (other then adding a Christmas tree) so I can finally focus on other gifts.
Next on the list are pjs for the boys (material bought) gift bags for the boys (already started), water bottle holder for boys, play dough for L, lots o homemade stuff for friends and family.

Advent animals

Last year I started an advent calendar. I made a winter woods scene out of felt with 24 pockets below it. This year I started making the animals for the pockets. Each one is made from wool felt and needle felted. I'll probably only make a few more this year so I can get to other projects. I'll post a picture of them with the calendar when we put it up.

Martinmas

We had a big family martinmas celebration this year. We started last night making tissue paper and jar lanterns. We began the day at our local holiday parade and then went home to make a harvest stew and to make bread together. Each person kneaded the bread together and then mad their own roll. After dinner we passed out symbols of the season (pine cones, glass squirrels, wooden apples, etc) to put in our fall bags. Then we lit our lanterns and walked through the neighborhood singing. We ended at a bonfire eating our bread.

Fall felt board.

I have finished the first of my fall felt board plans. I wanted to get a bunch of pieces made I make fall scenes and tell stories. My next plan is to make a jack O lantern with different faces. Then I'd like to make the pieces to our book stellaluna. Somewhere in there I'll also make some Halloween pieces.

Gnome in the night

Another transparency I made. This one is partly copied from one on pinterest. I can't link back to it though because it's no longer there. Anyway these are pretty easy to make. I just drew the picture on white paper and then used a paper knife to cut then out over the black card stock. Then I used scissors to cut out kite paper that I layered on the back with stick glue. So this idea came from someone else's but switched the little boy to a gnome.

Felt board

I have finally made a felt board. I found an easy way to make it. I bought a canvas board and staple gunned felt to it.
It was easy! Over the last year I've collected a bunch of felt pieces from swaps I'll be back to post them.

Sewing a bunny

K got the sewing bug again and decided to make a bunny. He drew it, designed it, sewed it, and stuffed it. I was so surprised he stuck with the project all the way through. Even sweeter... He made it for his brother. :)
