Wooden Buttons

I keep seeing these wooden buttons on people's blogs and really wanted to try and make some. I have no idea what I'm going to sew them on. They were pretty easy. First I sawed the pieces off of a branch. Then I drilled holes in them, sanded them, and used beeswax to polish them. I'll have to come back when I've actually used them on a project. I was thinking they would have been really cute on my root children. Perhaps next time.

I love the idea of homemade wooden buttons. I have a couple of our apple tree branches cut off and waiting in the wood store. Like you I'm not sure what I will use them for. I think it will have to be something that doesn't go through the washing machine.
