I love winter. I love playing in the snow and sledding and hiking through the woods. K does not. He hates putting on boots, coats, mittens, and snow pants. He hates getting snow on his shoes. All winter long I tried to convince him that snow was fun. He is not buying it. Finally i decided to bring winter in the house. I've been wanting to do this project for a long time and now that the weather is warming up (40 today!) I knew we wouldn't have snow for long. I have to say that playing in dyed snow was so relaxing and fun. We ended up going through 4 batches. We'd get our snow, add dye, and play around with it with spoons till it was so mixed up it turned a muddy brown. Also another great project to get your floors clean. There was snow everywhere. :)

What fun, great way to see that the temperament of the child can still be engaged, without all the extra padding. cheers Marie
